Ethnic Nationalities Council - ENC

The ENC was established in March 2004 to represent
the views of the seven constituent states of the Union of Burma -
Arakan, Chin, Kachin, Karen, Karenni, Mon and Shan -
who make up 45% or 22 Million of the population.

Objectives

• End the military dictatorship in Burma
• Establish a genuine Federal Union
on the principles of the Panglong Agreement
• Guarantee democratic rights, political equality
and self determination
• Promote a democratic system of government
• Resolve political crisis through dialogue,
negotiations and compromise
